Punk Rock Girl Art

Welcome! Thanks for your interest in my work! Punk Rock Girl Art is a project I created in 2015 to show case my rust photography, urban exploration photos, train & graffiti chasing images, other various artworks & poetry. The poems are often inspired by the images so I tend to share them together. One of my favorite quotes “Art is anything you can get away with.” By Andy Warhol is a bit of a motto for this project.

I adore looking for art in unexpected places and presenting it in ways that amaze and surprise others as I find beauty in the utterly mundane.

I like to turn the unexpected into a work of art. Punk Rock Girl at heart, coming of age in the 90’s having the chance to see bands like the Ramones and Blondie in their final tour when I was 15. Being the tiny girl moshing at Agnostic Front & GBH shows. Renting an apartment over the venue Bogarts in Cincinnati so I could run down stairs to shows whenever I wanted.

I’ve always loved expressing my individuality and being an original so the punk world was perfect!

I’ve always been an artist and loved photography and then when Instagram became a thing I started looking around for cool things to photograph and that’s when I started trekking around in train yards, junk yards, old buildings etc and realized rust close up is as beautiful as many abstract artworks. It was fun to find a community on Instagram that loved this kind of photography as much as I did and it’s been a blast creating this kind of art (along with many others) ever since. XoX Charity 💋
